The Hardest Thing About Good-byes By: Jessica M. Moonflower I understand that we must part for now, And that you will come back to me someday; Your reassuring words and love is proof of that. But why does this have to be so hard? I weep every time I think of the day of your departure, And how much it will crush my heart to know that you are not around. Your beautiful face I shall miss dearly, Your warm smiles and sweet kisses no longer there to comfort me. Sometimes I wish I could change your mind about leaving, Convince you that you should stay here with me. I often wish you could take me with you so we can be together and not apart, but it is not to be. I will not hold you back any longer from your journey, Nor will I weep and make this parting harder than it already is. But I shall promise you this, You will always be in my heart wherever you go and whatever you may do. If for some reason you may not be able to return to me again, And you leave this world without being able to say good-bye, I shall always remember you and a love that never faded; Like a rose that dies, yet its fragrance still lingers. Every time I close my eyes, I shall see you; Your soft voice, sweet caresses, and warm embraces that moves me to tears, Makes my heart soar high above the clouds, And gives me the reassurance I need to get through the day. So I shall say good-bye, sweet love, With a promise that I'll be here waiting for you when you return, A prayer for a safe journey, And a sweet kiss to remember me by.
